April 30th, 2007Herrontown Woods Arboretum is a valuable resource for the natural world. It is open to the public on free admission and there are walking trails to follow. The collection includes several species of trees, flowers and shrubs and there is also a pine forest. Lake Carnegie offers another respite from urban living. The artificial lake takes its name from its patron, businessman Andrew Carnegie, who had connections to Princeton New Jersey. The University rowing team train there and the public has access to ice skate, do some fishing or relax with a picnic.
