Reasons to Store Cord Blood
November 30th, 2007The decision for the collection of cord blood must be made well in advance of delivery. Everybody, the right of parents to their obstetrician, and banking of cord blood must be prepared for the storage of cord blood before birth.
Serious diseases like lymphoma, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, and the same can be treated with transplantation of cord blood. If the patient is able to use its own sample, or if the sample proved a perfect match for a brother, and then there is a chance for healing higher.
