June 30th, 2007The Graves area, which lies to the west of the Garonne River, is named for the pebbles found in the soil of this area which allows for excellent drainage and produces very healthy vines. The Graves area produces a lovely garnet-colored red wine with a mix of Merlot and Cabernet grapes and dry white wines based mainly on the Semillon grape with some Sauvignon Blanc blended in.
