V8 Supercars

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

V8 Supercars is a touring car racing category based in Australia held since 1993. It draws over 250,000 spectators, not to mention millions of television viewers. Along with Australia, it has a considerable popularity in New Zealand.

The V8 Supercars themselves take their basis as either the Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore, which have been the two most purchased cars in Australia. Although they bear some resemblance in their appearance, they are highly modified to match the motor-sport application. This has thought to have resulted in the motor racing term “win on Sunday, sell on Monday”.To get more information click here

Cookie Diet: Another Fad Diet

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Latest weight loss/diet news is the COOKIE DIET. Yeah, you read that right. Let’s see, eat 6 cookies a day plus one real meal and you’ll lose weight. I suppose you will, if you stick to it religiously. This is just another in a long line of fad diets that use substitution and restriction instead of a balanced diet of REAL food. As a matter of fact, I just thought of a new one: The Pizza Diet. Eat one small pizza a day plus two apples and you’ll lose weight.

Seriously, folks, these diets are just gimmicks. You may lose weight if you follow these plans to a tee but are any of them healthy? You didn’t become overweight overnight. You became overweight because you ate too much junk and didn’t stay active. Simple. You probably ate a lot of COOKIES along with potato chips, fast food, etc. Don’t fall for this nonsense.

Hunting Areas in Africa (Mozambique – Cabo Delgado)

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

On the coast of the Indian Ocean, bordered by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Tanzania, Mozambique is one of the least-developed countries in Southern Africa. Bisected north and south by the Zambezi River, Mozambique’s terrain runs from thick forests to swamplands and even palm forests. With its coastal proximity, the climate is mostly tropical. Leopard, lion, Cape buffalo, elephant and hippo are among the high-quality trophies taken on Mozambique safaris. There are also good numbers of trophy quality southern greater kudu, Chobe bushbuck, nyala, eland and crocodile. Cabo Delgado is the northernmost province of Mozambique.
Depending on the time of year, up to 30% of the area is wetland with enormous swampy plains. On these plains one can on occasion see herds of several hundred buffalo and it is also here that most of our buffalo hunting is done. The area is blessed with herds of animals as it was described in the old days. The region is original, unspoiled and truly unique, offering a large selection of truly free ranging, wild game. It is one of the few places where you can hunt in unfenced, remote wilderness. The greater area has thousands of buffalo. The wilderness is generally doing well and species diversity, game numbers and trophy quality are improving every year. The area is also unique in its habitat diversity with large rivers, swamps, grassy plains and forests each contributing to the large animal diversity.
