These is a great article i found on www.tents.info So I was staying up at my brother’s hidden cabin last summer. He thinks it’s so cool because it was constructed completely by hand. An Amish group built it for him. Okay, who am I kidding? That is one sweet little cabin.
It has a loft and a wood stove. What else could a nature buff ask for? Anyway, I made certain to bring a few cans of mosquito repellant.
I knew those little devils would be thick up there in the month of July.

After 8 hours of hiking, watching Orion rise in the distance, a beautiful sunrise from Kilimanjaro and freezing cold winds, I got to Stella point. After a short break, I headed on to Uhuru and reached it with Karel as the first of our group. About 10 minutes later a few others showed up and we took more photos. This is my kilimanjaro summit photo. It’s also available in a larger format, just click the picture.

From www.tents.info Bugs, bugs, bugs! Say goodbye to those nasty, bothersome insects and bugs for the year. The cold weather is near. You know that this means they will all perish with that first frost. Or at least a great many of them will. I suppose a few will fly south and some will hide. The point is you won’t be needing misquito repellant and numerous other DEET products. As much as I hate spraying this gunk all over myself daily during the summer months, I hate the bug bites worse. It always makes me laugh the way folks gripe about arachnids. Spiders may sneak into your basement or closet on occasion, but at least they don’t attack you relentlessly.

I have been a big fan of African safari hunts for a long time – ever since my grand father first took me. Of course, my grampa was the real deal. African safari hunting was not something that he took lightly – not at all. You see, good old gramps was a British civil servant, and part of the long tradition of colonial rule that prided itself on its marksmanship as much as on its professionalism and its service to the crown and country. You really could say that African safari hunting was in our blood, ever since my great grandfather worked for the British East India tea company. The fact is, for members of the British nobility, hunting has always been a whole lot more than just simply a matter of sport. It is a tradition which dates all the way back before the mob rule more popularly known as democracy in this insane modern rule. Although fox hunting is an older, and in some ways a richer tradition, for many Brits, African safari hunting has become just as key a part of their lifestyle as has the older form of hunting.

With all the different skin types come many skin disorders. A common one for almost all people is acne. Again, African American skin shows acne differently because of the darker tone. Treating acne and other skin disorders can be very frustrating, and if not treated properly can cause more harm than good. Here are some helpful tips for fighting back against common skin disorders:
- When using a cleanser, lather and then rinse off. Do not vigoursly scrub your face, this can actually cause irritation and abrasion.
- When taking a shower, do not make the water really hot because the heat can strip your skin of its natural oils.
- Make sure you are using the skin care products that are tailored to your skin’s needs.
- A step further would be to use an all natural product on your skin, because petroleum and chemical based products can be very harmful over a long period of time.

An article on  Africa Travel
THE log on the riverbank suddenly turned into a huge crocodile which crawled into the water and swam towards my canoe.
“It’s coming to get us, let’s go,” I shouted to my guide Innocent (yes, his real name).
But he had other ideas. “I’m the chief guide, I must shield the rest,” he said, furiously paddling our canoe towards the beast as travellers in other canoes leisurely paddled on. He jabbed its mouth with his paddle and pushed its head under water. I will never forget how the croc lifted up the canvas base of our canoe as it went underneath.Â
The encounter with the 2m-long crocodile was one of many adventures my travel mate Chean and I experienced on an African holiday in June….
… If you are looking for adventure and close encounters with animals, rough it out in Southern Africa. Watch out, too, for denizens of Cape Town’s underbelly …

What do you know about African safari hunting? Oh sure, I’ll bet you’ve seen all sorts of things on television and film. However, I can’t guarantee how accurate they were. Chances are if they showed a corny looking big-game hunter shooting a saber-tooth tiger, it was probably bogus. I say that simply due to the fact that this particular breed of tiger is extinct. Anyway, the sport of African safari hunting is a reality in contemporary times.

Going on South African safari tour would be an experience like no other. It would be amazing to see all those majestic animals such as lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and more running free in their natural habitat. But unlike hopping on a plane to the Bahamas with just an overnight bag with me, going on South African safari tour requires quite a bit more planning.

I’ve loved traveling ever since my junior year of high school when my class went on a trip to Rome. Since that time, I’ve had the opportunity to backpack through Europe, bum around the Caribbean for a month, and even live in Southeast Asia for a short time. The more exotic the destination, the better as far as I’m concerned. That’s why I’ve recently been thinking about going on an African safari.

The Africa photos just do not begin to capture all of the sites, sounds, and textures of this rich continent. The dryness of the deserts, the heat of the North, and the richness of peoples, cultures, and languages can simply not be captured. They are all things which I simply can not include in any of my Africa photos no matter how I try, thing which must be experienced first hand by a traveler, even if only for a little while, and only as a tourist.
