Top Places to Live in Northern California

Monday, July 12th, 2010

When you think of the greatest places in the world to live most people think of California. The California lifestyle means so many things to other people in other parts of the U.S. and around the world. The very word “California” conjures up images of golden sunsets and pounding surf, bikini clad beauties and outdoor concerts under the sun. Someone from frozen Moscow for instance may imagine Hollywood stars and wild parties in Beverly Hills. We who live in California know that the reality is much different than the fantasy. The truth is that there are very desirable areas in California and there are much less attractive places, just like anywhere else in the world.

Northern California is famous for the Golden Gate Bridge and the hilly beauty of San Francisco. San Francisco is one of the top places to live in Northern California and for that matter in all of the United States. Year after year it tops the polls around the world when people answer the question: “If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?” But Northern California includes many other scenic towns and cities.

Marin County directly to the north of San Francisco, across the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge and overlooking the San Francisco Bay is where you will find several towns that consistently rank among the top places to live in California. One of these gorgeous towns is Sausalito. Take the first exit after the Golden Gate Bridge on the Marin side and follow the signs over and down the hill and you will find quaint Sausalito with its wonderful restaurants, shops, and boutiques. The older restored architecture mixes well with modernist themes on the densely wooded hillside overlooking the Harbor.

Past Sausalito is scenic Mill Valley, just a few miles from Muir Woods National Park where you can see ancient redwood trees ascending into the heavens. The lovely homes of Mill Valley are some of the most expensive real estate in all of California. Downtown boasts great little restaurants and shops and walking there during the warm summer months is one of the most fun diversions to be found in all of the Bay Area.

Another beautiful Northern California destination and one of the top places to live is the Napa and Sonoma wine country. The entire region is very scenic with mile upon mile of rolling, wooded hills and vineyards. Exploring the wine country is a great way to spend a weekend. You can drive around to all of the wineries, many of them small artisan labels, and sample some of the best wines in the world. Reserve a room at one of Calistoga’s bed and breakfast inns and you are in for a romantic weekend with your significant other.

Make sure to bring your camera when out sight seeing in the Bay Area because you never know when you turn a corner what breathtaking sights await you. Go with friends or all on your own and discover all of the awesome natural beauty that is par of the Northern California experience and what makes Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area one of the top places to live in the entire world.

Fun in San Diego California

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Put on those walking shoes because your first stop in San Diego should be Balboa Park. Why? Simply because this place has so much to do that it’ll make your vacation in San Diego one you’ll never forget. Imagine 15 museums, beautiful gardens everywhere and the added attraction of concerts. If you’ve children with you they’ll enjoy the mini railroad and carousel within the park. On the northern side of the park you’ll find the San Diego zoo. The zoo consists of 750 species of mammals such as the giant pandas to the hundreds of slithering snakes, but one of its greatest attractions is actually the Skyfari cable car! It gets hot so if you can’t stop sweating, you should check out the San Diego Wild Animal Park which you tour around on a monorail that takes about 53 minutes to complete the loop which circles a preserve containing many types of wild animals such as zebras, rhinos and giraffes.

One “must do” activity on your vacation should be to the San Diego maritime museum. It may look on the outside, but looks are deceiving as it has a lot of amazing exhibits inside. This museum itself is housed on a ship. If you like pirates, you’ll love Pirates of the Pacific, inside this ship are all the wonders from William Dampier. Many other ships such as Berkeley, Californian, Pilot, B-39 Submarine, etc are on display. If you are in anyway interested in ships or love maritime history this is going to be a fun place for you.

Tips On Online Dating

Tricky Online Relationships

When you spend time online, you are going to meet a variety of different people. Some are bothersome, and others can become friends. You can also meet the love of your life, or perhaps someone who is going to take you for all that you are worth and you never saw it coming. Dealing with and negotiating online relationships can be hard, but you do not have to have a hard time. You can meet genuine people who are true friends, and perhaps that special someone is waiting out there to meet you too. Use some caution and the same instincts that you use when you meet someone in person.

There are some online relationships that start in person. People meet out on the town, for example, and then they exchange names and often, a social networking site address. They then spend time getting to know each other through the Internet rather than by talking on the phone, at least at first. This can be a double edged sword. You can learn a lot about someone through their social networking profiles, but at times, it can be too much at once. The slow discovery of one another is part of what makes dating exciting. If you learn all at once through online relationships rather than real dating, you may not get very far in the relationship.

On the other hand, there are those that use social networking sites to find online relationships. They often meet people that they would never normally run into in person. This could be because they do not go out much, or perhaps they go out to the wrong places. Many online relationships that start this way end up in a real love connection, and sometimes even in a marriage. You can use online dating sites to meet people, but you can use other types of communications as well. Just remember, just like when you meet and date someone in person, you should take it slow and easy.

You may not be looking for love, but you can still form other types of online relationships. Networking sites and classmate finders have made it possible for old friends to find each other again. The problem is usually that they no longer live in the same area. What was once an in-person relationship then turns into an online relationship. Most do not last long, but it is nice to catch up with someone and to see where they go as time goes on. You don’t have to be as close as you once where to hope the best for someone and to be interested in how their life unfolds.

Other online relationships may not be what they seem. You can meet new people that you
may never meet in person and form deep and lasting relationships with them. However,
there are also people who would like nothing more than to empty your bank account.
Not all online relationships are true or safe. Use your intuition and if something feels
bad, then trust your judgement and your feelings…cut off contact and look into that person more thoroughly before you decide how
much you should trust them. Read up on online scams so that you can better choose
between people who are friendly and those that are not so friendly

I Use The Confidence Hybrid Irons

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

California has great weather year round and naturally it has golf courses all over. It is a great hobby. Golf can be a frustrating game. It is a game of rhythm first and foremost, then comes the accuracy and finally power. But I find it hard to get anything going when I can’t find a comfort level with my golf clubs. I am just and amateur but I can really feel a difference using a confidence hybrid over a standard old club. The versatility of the club is what I like the most. Until I get better, I won’t invest in a large bag of premium clubs, so for now I have a few confidence hybrid irons and the rest are some old clubs I picked up at a second hand store. eventually I will replace them all. A great place to learn about all that confidence offers without being the confidence website of course is at the link above.

People from every continent on the planet want to come here and when you plan your trip to San Francisco there are several key things you will want to remember.

First thing to remember is that you want to bring some warm clothing such as coats, overcoats, and even rainy wear apparel. You also need some summer type clothes because the weather in San Francisco can change dramatically from morning to afternoon to evening.

A typical day can start with overcast skies and clear up by the middle of the afternoon.

Custom Cabinets

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

For many years, I only purchased my cabinets from an Orange County cabinet maker that I knew. Recently, though, I’ve been pricing other cabinet makers. While they had better prices, my OC cabinet maker was much better. Then I read this article entitled “Orange County Cabinets – Beech Wood is Hot” and realized that he had been working with the latest trends the entire time. I’m glad I found him.

Remodeling and Electricians

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

If you are remodeling your home, you might have read the article “An El Dorado Hills Electrician Can Make the Most of Your Remodel.” If so, then you know the importance of getting a trained El Dorado Hills electrician to help you with your wiring. Only a proper electrician can keep things perfectly done and up to code. If you haven’t read the article, then I suggest that you do before you try to do the electrical work in your house alone.

Designing a Redesign

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

If you have ever experienced designing a home interior with a Scottsdale interior design firm, then you know how important it is to know what you want in advance. While the design firm can help you figure it out, it might cost you extra in the process. My suggestion is to read the article “How to Create a Home with Your Own Interior Design Style” and start planning now.

Check Your HVAC

Monday, November 30th, 2009

If you live in the Folsom area like I do, then chances are that you need to have your Folsom HVAC checked soon. It’s getting cold outside and more and more residents are starting up their wood fireplaces and pellet stoves to hold off the winter chill. I read the article “Folsom Heating” the other day, and it had a point about Folsom. It’s important to get your heating checked before winter and your air conditioning checked before summer. After all, you will not be comfortable otherwise.

Candy apples have been around for a very long time, but you can get them in all types of forms today, and you can make them on your own. These Halloween treats are always welcome, as most love the tart and sweet combination. Harry Potter adult costumes are another option, but you should make sure you do some practice runs with these Halloween treats. It can be hard to get them right the first try. Even better, you can add whatever you want to them. Use your imagination and make them something special.

Top Ten US Beaches For Shell Collecting

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Silver Strand State Beach, Coronado Island, California
Silver Strand State Beach in San Diego’s South Bay was even named for the silvery oyster shells that cover the dunes here. But this narrow seven mile stretch of sand is also full of other kind of shells such as cockles, limpets, scallops and sand dollars. Plus you can find a lot of clams that buried in the sand by the water. The beach protects San Diego Bay from the sea, and the best shells could be found on the ocean side. The area offers great facilities for camping and picnicking, as well as more luxury accommodations such as Hotel del Coronado with a great spa where local shells are widely used in different treatments.

Teeth Whitening At Home or In Office

Monday, August 10th, 2009

For years I’ve been paying big bucks to get those “at home kits” for whitening my teeth. Honestly, I pay a fortune and my teeth only look okay. My Yorba Linda dentist recommended I read the article “Using an At-Home Kit or Going to Professionals for Teeth Whitening” and find out more information about professional teeth whitening. And you know what, I really learned a lot from that article.

Flood Safety

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Flood safety is really important, especially if you have never been through a flood before. All of the flood insurance quotes in the world won’t get you the help you need if you don’t turn off electricity to exposed areas or stay out of standing water. For some tips on what to do when it floods, read the article “Tips on Preparing Yourself in Case of a Flood” or contact your local county offices.

Carpets and Allergies

Friday, June 12th, 2009

I thought they were joking. Some friends of mine told me that they read an article that told them to hire Orange County carpet cleaners to fight allergies. I laughed until they told me that it worked. They called some carpet cleaners and even cleaned the upholstery. And you know what? They’re allergies are much better! So I decided to try it. I looked up that same article entitled “The Health Benefits of Frequent Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning” and read it. It was simply put but great information.

Becoming More Fit

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I first started going to the San Francisco Bikram yoga studio because I wanted to become more fit and take some pressure off of my knees. However, what I found there was more than just a bit of fitness. I feel like a new person. You can read the article “The Benefit of Taking Yoga Classes” and find out more about this amazing art form and how it can assist you in your life.

Excess Flood Insurance

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

For many who live in a flood zone, flood insurance rates have the tendency to go up each year. While some of that is because of inflation, there are also companies who raise their rates just because they can get away with it. Your best option is to read the article “Obtaining an Excess Flood Insurance Quote Can Give You Piece of Mind” and following its instructions for getting quotes from several companies. This way, you can find an insurance company that gives you what you need for a good price.

Lemons and the Law

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

For many of us, buying a car is scary enough without thinking about getting a dud. I mean, between payments and insurance, you already know you’re going to spend a fortune. But what if your car is a lemon and you have to call California lemon law attorneys in order to sort out the issue? It’s always good to be prepared, so I recommend reading the article “Does Your Vehicle Qualify as a “Lemon” Under the CA Lemon Law” before you purchase a car, whether used or new.

Safe Modulars

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

California doesn’t see tornadoes very often. When we do, they are little things that only touch ground for a few seconds. So, when I tell you that California manufactured homes are perfectly safe and even secure, I’m not joking. In California, a modular home is just as purchasable as a real home except less expensive. Need more information? Well, you can read the article “Answers to Your Modular Home Questions” and it will give you all the information you need.
