Dining In New York City After Midnight

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

New York City is well-known as the city that never sleeps. However, it is not easy to find a good place to have a dinner after midnight. Of course, you always can find snack in a regular deli (New York City delis sell food 24 hours), but what about a great meal, say, at midnight or later? Majority of New York restaurant kitchens stop serving meals after 11 p.m. Any concert or Broadway show usually ends around 10 p.m., where are you going to have dinner in New York City after that?

JFK Airport Transportation To and From New York City

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Helicopters from two Manhattan’s locations (East 34th St. and Wall St. area) will bring you to and from JFK for less than 10 minutes. If you can afford, you definitely must experience it, the view of the city is breathtaking! And it gives you an opportunity to avoid most of the traffic. However, if you are not staying around these two heliports you would have to spend some time in order to get there. Plus, the helicopter arrives to the Terminal 3 at JFK, and if you are not flying from this terminal you have to take AirTrain to get to the terminal of your departure. Eventhough the trip is only 10 minutes, taking into account that you have to arrive to the heliport in advance and all the time getting to the heliport and your terminal, the trip is not really faster than the trip on a taxi and definitely less convenient.

Rent or Buy in New York City?

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Everyone says that you have to be a C-level executive or Investment Banker to by any kind of home in New York City.  My question: is that true really true?  Even if you could buy something, is buying or renting in NYC a better choice?

I moved NYC in August and spent about two weeks looking for Manhattan apartments, and found something that appeared to be reasonable (relatively) after about 10 days.  After living in this apartment for a few months, I am hearing that it is a little overpriced considering how old the building is and that I can hear my wonderful upstairs neighbors sneeze.

I have been wondering what it would really take to buy a condo in Manhattan.  I know I am not going to get a place as large as the 1,000 square foot apartment in Denver that I previously had.   So if I accept that I am not going to get a large place, can I get any place on a IT job/Graduate Degree salary?

An article excerpt about Replica Designer Watches

He darted off like I was crazy. Oh well, what can you do? The truth is I meant the guy no harm, I just wanted the time. I am one of those anomalies, who simply hate wearing a watch all day. In fact, I can’t stand wearing any jewelry. It’s just always in my way. However, I do realize that most folks do prefer to wear a watch.

New York City - A Cultural History

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Why is New York City so famous? The weather is terrible, the city is overcrowded, and even the buildings are second to many others elsewhere in the world. The cigar-shaped strip of land called Manhattan is difficult to access with bridges crowded with cars, streets clogged with buses and taxis. What a combination of fascinating history, rare sights and unquenchable spirit is found here though.

Where after all were some of the first subways built making possible the productive use of former swamp land? The early 20th century saw the expansion of the system North to Central Park and beyond where there were formerly shanties and mosquitoes. Now the area hosts some of the most elegant businesses and museums in the world.

The history of Wall Street has filled many stories of passion, greed, and vision. In the second half of the 19th century J.P. Morgan financed the burgeoning steel and electrical industries and many railroads out of his own pocket while his competitors ran to the legislature for special handouts.

Why do a New York City vacation?  Visit and see.
