The most striking feature of Dartmouth Castle is that it stands tall right on the banks of the Dart Estuary - a stunning waterside setting. Dartmouth Castle was initially built in the 14th Century, but underwent substantial works in the 15th Century when Henry VIII had it redesigned to be able to better fit his weaponry. Close to Dartmouth Castle is Kingswear Castle and St Petroc’s Church. Given the beautiful setting (right at the mouth of the Dart Estuary), Dartmouth Castle is well worth a visit - not just to marvel at the history but to enjoy the awesome scenery and perhaps enjoy a picnic.

For all of us who love to travel, there is no bigger attraction than cheap airline fares. I became a fan of cheap airline fares ever since I discovered that they exist. Each time I get into a flight I make it a point to ask my co passengers, at least those within hearing distance, what cheap airline fares they paid for the privilege of traveling together. In one memorable case, the difference in cheap airline fares that a man and his co-passenger in the next seat paid was vast enough to straddle a couple of hundred dollars.

Everyone’s hoping for a cold snap this month in McCall, Idaho. Not because they’re fans of frostbite, but because subfreezing temps will keep the powder dry on the just-opened ski runs at the region’s new Tamarack Resort. McCall, Idaho, is a lakeside resort community that’s a 100-mile drive past slopes of snow-edged pines along the Payette River north of Boise. McCall, Idaho, makes a convenient base, and downtown’s Hotel McCall continues to provide a classy place to spend the night.

Brazil is characterized by the extensive low-lying Amazon Rainforest in the north and a more open terrain of hills and low mountains to the south, home to most of the Brazilian population and its agricultural base. Fall foliage in New England provides a showcase for Mother Nature. Perhaps nowhere else in America, and maybe even the world, are the fall colors as stunning and spectacular as October in New England.Fall foilage in New England really begins in August. The shortening daylight hours trigger the deciduous trees to begin the process of shedding their leaves. It happens all around North America, and all around the world. But in New England it results in a display of special landscapes painted with fiery autumn colors.
